Limitation and Levy Proposal
PROPOSAL TO PERMANATELY PRESERVE FARMLAND
AND OPEN SPACE THOUGOUT THE TOWNSHIP BY PROVIDING
FUNDING FOR THE VOLUNTARY PURCHASE OF LAND AND
DEVELOPMENT RIGHTS
Shall the tax limitation on the total amount of general ad valorem taxes which
may be assessed on any one year upon real and tangible personal property in the Charter Township of Augusta, Washtenaw County, Michigan, be increased as provided by Section 6 of Article IX of the constitution of Michigan, 1963, by an increase of .50 mill (50 cents per $1,000) of taxable value for a period of five (5) years 2005 – 2010 inclusive, and shall the levy of such tax be authorized, for the purpose of providing additional revenue for the permanent preservation of farmland, open space, wildlife habitat, and to protect the water quality of rivers, creeks and streams throughout the Township, and to take advantage of matching funds elsewhere which increase will raise the first year of such levy an estimated $83,614.
